Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing degree from an accredited school of professional nursing required.
• Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
• Professional Certification in clinical area or management within one year of hire preferred.
• Five (5) years of progressive clinical experience; see attached Table 1 for Direction I-IV leveling.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day operations for assigned patient care departments, 24/7 responsibility.
• Reviews hires, sets performance standards, coordinates staffing and training with education dept.
• Collaborates with service line leaders to set goals and strategic plans for the department.
• Monitors patient care activities to ensure high quality service and patient experience.
• Participates in program evaluation, process improvement and outcomes analysis.
• Ensures budget adherence, forecasts expenses and addresses variances.
• Engages medical staff in policy planning and service developments.
• Complies with regulatory and nursing standards; supports professional development.
