Job summary

Medix seeks an experienced Director of Patient Access & Revenue Cycle Services to lead hospital-wide operations, improve processes, and build high-performing teams. This leadership role focuses on patient access, revenue cycle management, and collaboration across departments to optimize outcomes.

The position requires data-driven decision making, strong communication, and a track record of achieving KPIs and financial goals. On-site work in Newark, NJ with a Monday–Friday schedule is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Epic and hospital revenue cycle experience.
• 5+ years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Patient Access and Revenue Cycle teams.
• Set clear performance expectations and monitor KPIs and financial goals.
• Monitor registration accuracy, wait times, denial rates, collections and bill hold days.
• Identify revenue cycle issues and partner with Finance, Coding, Billing, Clinical, Revenue Integrity and IT to implement solutions.
• Lead initiatives focused on denial reduction, revenue capture, upfront collections, and patient financial communication.
• Use Epic dashboards, reports, and work queues to monitor performance and improve registration accuracy and collections.
• Lead revenue cycle meetings and present KPI and financial performance to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including MSPQ and Charity Care.
• Oversee staff training, education and competency requirements.
• Manage staffing, budgeting, and day-to-day department operations.
• Drive process improvement and change initiatives to improve efficiency and financial performance.
