Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Director of Patient Access & Revenue Cycle to lead hospital patient access and revenue cycle operations across Newark-based facilities. The role oversees registration, pre-registration, insurance authorization, and aligns departmental goals with the system’s mission and strategic plan.

Responsibilities include improving upfront cash collections, reducing denials, collaborating with coding, billing, and clinical teams, and providing monthly performance reporting to

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge in registration, non-Federal and Federal billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care.
• Medical terminology and computer skills.
• Minimum of 5 years in management/leadership role.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for Patient Access and Revenue Cycle departments to align with the organization's mission and values.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, employees, physicians, patients, and guests.
• Collaborate with coding, billing, and clinical teams to reduce claim denials through root-cause analysis and process improvements.
• Lead change initiatives and ensure compliant and efficient revenue cycle operations.
• Oversee daily operations, budgeting, and staffing to meet demand and budget targets.
