Job summary

OpenTable, part of Booking Holdings, seeks a Director of Engineering to lead Global Partnerships engineering across Solutions Engineering, Integrations, and API Platform. You’ll guide strategy, architecture, and developer experience while collaborating with product, partnerships, and security teams.

This role blends strategic direction with hands-on leadership, building a high-performing, multi-team organization in a hybrid London environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading engineering organizations with multiple teams and managers.
• Experience with APIs, distributed systems, platform engineering, developer experience, integrations, or another technically complex B2B ecosystem.
• Demonstrated success creating prioritization, escalation and operating mechanisms in a high-demand environment.
• Strong product judgment and ability to distinguish recurring opportunities from one-off requests.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with executives, engineers, partners and non-technical stakeholders.
• Track record of hiring, coaching, and developing managers and senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Set strategy and portfolio for partner integrations, APIs, developer experience and Solutions Engineering.
• Build a scalable engineering model with disciplined intake, prioritization, escalation, SLAs and cross-functional collaboration.
• Lead architectural direction for API Platform and Integrations and improve developer experience for internal and external users.
• Translate partner problems into durable product, process and documentation improvements.
• Foster trusted relationships across Partnerships, RSS, Product, Support, Security, Legal and Engineering; communicate trade-offs clearly.
• Develop managers and senior leaders, improve delegation and succession, expand organizational scope with proven results.
