Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Director of Package Engineering to lead a technical team responsible for late-stage development, commercialization, and supply of Vertex products. The role requires strategic leadership, building a high-performing packaging organization and driving efficiency and risk reduction across processes.

The successful candidate will partner with Manufacturing Science & Technology, Supply Chain and Regulatory groups to advance packaging strategies, recruit and develop talent, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Packaging, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related discipline.
• Typically requires 12 years of experience, including 5 years in leadership/management.
• Experience in packaging for pharmaceutical products through development to launch.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging engineering and align across technical areas.
• Support regulatory packaging CMC strategy and market applications.
• Represent MS&T on corporate/strategic teams and long-range planning.
• Resolve critical packaging issues with stakeholders and drive improvements.
• Recruit, develop and motivate teams; build a high-performing workforce.
• Define functional goals and annual business plans; align operations strategy.
