Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated in Boston seeks a Package Engineering Associate Director who leads technical packaging activities and manages strategic supplier relationships to ensure manufacturing success.

You will design packaging systems, coordinate with Regulatory, QA and Project Management, drive process improvements, and support filings. Hybrid/onsite options, travel ~30% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in packaging or related engineering field.
• Typically 8 years of experience or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP and regulatory considerations in pharma.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in packaging technical areas.
• Manage relationships with key suppliers of materials and resources.
• Coordinate activities across multiple projects and suppliers.
• Design packaging activities including design, equipment, labeling, sourcing.
• Collaborate with Regulatory, QA, Project Management and others to meet timelines.
• Liaise with Regulatory Affairs and Quality for process validation and filings.
• Evaluate process performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Assist in department goal setting.
