Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline seeks a Director-level Oncology Translational Medicine Project Manager to oversee cross-functional translational programs and external alliances. The role focuses on biomarker strategies, regulatory planning, and CPMS coordination across the Oncology portfolio.

The candidate will manage budgets, dashboards, and complex schedules while coordinating multiple internal teams and external partners to accelerate asset development and approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related discipline.
• Strong background and experience in Oncology.
• Demonstrated experience and understanding and application of Project Management principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
• Minimum of 10 years of project/program or alliance management experience supporting biomarker and/or diagnostic development programs in the diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotech industry, with a solid understanding of outsourcing processes, vendor management, and scientific study plans.
• Knowledge and experience in drug discovery and development, clinical trial design, principles of clinical development, as well as Dx development, and regulatory submissions.
• Established expertise with Microsoft Project or equivalent, Microsoft Office applications, and remote meeting tools; working understanding of AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational oversight of external alliances and academic collaborations focused on biomarker discovery and acceleration.
• Support scientific and business leads in establishing alliance objectives, scope, and success metrics aligned with OTM and Oncology portfolio priorities.
• Coordinate meeting forums with partners, ensuring decisions, actions, and risks are documented and followed.
• Translate collaboration strategy into integrated project plans with scope, milestones, and dependencies.
• Track alliance workplans for biomarker discovery and assay development.
• Monitor performance against milestones and KPIs; coordinate course corrections.
• Support contracting activities, SOW development, and oversight for external alliances.
• Coordinate alliance budgets: track spend, PO/invoice workflows, and scope reconciliation.
• Monitor progress, identify issues and risks, escalate when needed, and coordinate mitigation.
• Schedule and run alliance and project team meetings; track decisions and actions to closure.
• Maintain integrated plans for CPMS components of regulatory submissions across Oncology portfolio.
• Support regulatory documentation and submissions readiness.
• Track documents, reviews, and approvals; identify gaps and mitigate risks.
• Coordinate creation and maintenance of Diagnostic Target Profiles and related DB.
