Job summary

The Program Director at Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality youth development programs, aligning objectives with BGCB standards and mission.

You will supervise program directors, collaborate with the Executive Director and People & Culture on staffing, and ensure safe, engaging, and inclusive environments that foster academic success, character, and healthy lifestyles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in youth development, education, human services, nonprofit management, or a related field; equivalent relevant education and experience considered.
• Three to five years of experience developing, implementing, or managing youth development, education, or human service programs.
• Strong knowledge of youth development principles, program quality practices, and developmentally appropriate programming.
• At least three years of supervisory or program leadership experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead program improvement and adapt programming based on member needs and outcomes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility.
• Proven leadership and staff-development skills with the ability to coach program teams and build strong relationships with youth, families, and community partners.
• Experience developing, implementing, evaluating, and improving youth programs.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to creating inclusive environments for staff, members, and families.
• Ability to work effectively with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based systems.
• Strong team-building and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a leadership team.
• Flexibility to work Club hours, including evenings and weekends, as seasons and service needs change.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to respond to urgent program-related matters and emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for high-quality program delivery and outcomes.
• Directly supervise department directors and program leaders and provide oversight to program staff.
• Develop partnerships with external resources and community partners to support program goals.
• Lead and participate in program evaluation and quality-improvement efforts and use findings to strengthen program delivery.
