Job summary

Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston is seeking a Program Director to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality youth development programs in Dorchester, MA. You will supervise program directors, partners, and staff, ensuring safe, engaging environments and alignment with BGCB goals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant leadership experience, strong knowledge of youth development, and a commitment to inclusive, outcome-driven programming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in youth development, education, human services, nonprofit management, or a related field; equivalent relevant education and experience considered.
• Three to five years of experience developing, implementing, or managing youth development, education, or human service programs.
• Strong knowledge of youth development principles, program quality practices, and developmentally appropriate programming.
• At least three years of supervisory or program leadership experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead program improvement and adapt programming based on member needs and outcomes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility.
• Proven leadership and staff-development skills with the ability to coach program teams and build strong relationships with youth, families, and community partners.
• Experience developing, implementing, evaluating, and improving youth programs.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to creating inclusive environments for staff, members, and families.
• Ability to work effectively with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based systems.
• Strong team-building and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a leadership team.
• Flexibility to work Club hours, including evenings and weekends, as seasons and service needs change.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to respond to urgent program-related matters and emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Program development, delivery, and youth outcomes leadership and accountability.
• Supervise department directors and program staff; recruit and hire in collaboration with leadership.
• Coach and develop program leaders to support strong delivery and youth development.
• Promote inclusive program environments and participate in professional development.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in youth development, education, human services, nonprofit management, or a related field

Master’s degree in a related field
