Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• 9+ years of experience leading and supervising staff
• Thorough knowledge of property/casualty underwriting procedures and policies
• Demonstrated ability to lead, plan and work well with others
• Extensive knowledge of NCCI, ISO, and State insurance regulations
• Strong underwriting best practices and ability to apply them
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational, analytical, and interpretive skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Willingness to travel and work outside normal business hours

Responsibilities

• Accountable for achieving core operating income, real growth objectives and maintaining quality of business
• Mentor and guide team of underwriters and support professional development
• Ensure team adheres to company guidelines and risk standards
• Manage selection and pricing targets for new and renewal business
• Monitor underwriting decisions through audits and address issues
• Develop producer relations and manage book of business through action plans
• Oversee underwriting execution across all stages
• Create and distribute monthly management reports
• Travel for agency visits and industry meetings
• Stay current with market trends and demands
• Perform other related duties as assigned
