Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. is seeking a Senior Underwriter to administer underwriting agencies in the assigned territory, driving new business opportunities while ensuring compliance with underwriting standards and pricing policies.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial lines property and casualty experience and the ability to travel within the territory as needed. This role emphasizes risk analysis, pricing, collaboration with sales and support teams, and maintaining strong

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial lines property and casualty experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to travel including overnight stays within the assigned territory as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze data and make informed decisions.
• Preferred CPCU, AU, CIC, or other industry designations.

Responsibilities

• Write a profitable book of business through solid risk analysis, pricing and servicing; maintain compliance with state filings and corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with Underwriting, Sales, and support teams.
• Partner with Territory Management to develop and implement the territory business plan and share accountability with team in meeting goals.
• Take initiative with the team to develop, manage, and maintain outside client relationships with limited travel within the territory to meet with agencies and related organizations; participate in industry events.
• Exhibit professional, timely, and courteous communication and service to external clients and internal staff.
• Provide information and guidance to support staff required to process coverage requests in accordance with service guidelines.
• Assist in gathering and communicating competitive information and maintain knowledge of market trends and demands.
• Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.
