Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a Senior Underwriter to administer underwriting and servicing for new accounts within the territory, in line with company standards. The role requires strong risk analysis, pricing, and proactive client servicing, with travel up to 25% to meet agents, producers, and nonprofit associations.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, CPCU/CIC designation preferred, and extensive knowledge of commercial casualty, property, automobile, workers’

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• CPCU or CIC designation preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time within the assigned territory and to the Home Office as required.
• Demonstrated experience with an expert technical knowledge of commercial casualty, property, automobile, workers compensation and umbrella insurance coverage and risk selection, methods and pricing.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze data and make an informed, calculated risk decision.

Responsibilities

• Write and retain a profitable book of business through solid risk analysis, pricing and servicing.
• Collaborates closely with territory team and keeps peers informed of issues and activity.
• Develop and implement the territory business plan and share accountability with team in meeting territory goals.
• Train territory staff and clients on underwriting appetite and protocols.
• Act as referral point within Home Office authority grant for territory underwriting staff.
• Coach and collaborate with the team to develop, manage and maintain outside client relationships and travel to meet with agents and producers.
• Provide professional communication and service to external clients and cross-department staff to resolve policyholder issues.
• Support staff with information required to process coverage requests per service guidelines.
• Collaborate on reports and update databases.
