Job summary

University of North Texas System seeks a Director of Academic Advising to lead college-wide undergraduate advising and retention efforts within the UNT-RCOB. This role oversees staff, sets priorities, and ensures alignment with UNT's strategic goals across the Ryan College of Business.

The position emphasizes staff leadership, policy development, and data-driven decision-making to deliver an outstanding advising experience for students, with a Monday–Friday schedule and 1.0 FTE.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and four years of relevant experience in student affairs or academic advising.
• Strong leadership and staff development skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse populations.
• Ability to set priorities and manage performance.
• Knowledge of university policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic priorities and goals for undergraduate advising and retention; align with UNT priorities.
• Develop and monitor performance objectives and metrics for advising staff.
• Lead and develop advising staff; supervise senior advisors and counselors.
• Develop, implement, and enforce policies for advising to promote student success.
• Coordinate resource planning and efficient utilization of advising resources.
