This position is responsible for advising students on degree/program requirements and course scheduling. Maintains and updates student status records, transcript evaluations, degree plan audits, and graduation applications. Responsible for taking a leadership role in training and mentoring other advisors, participating in outreach/recruitment activities, managing special projects and/or serving as a subject matter expert on specialized majors, and determining how transfer credits apply toward degree requirements.
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in student affairs, student services, counseling, or professional academic advising.
Strong presentation skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to use a variety of complex computer applications. Ability to communicate effectively with various populations verbally and in writing. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work independently and lead project teams effectively. Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).
Strong public speaking and communication skills.
Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm, with occasional nights and weekends.
