Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. in New Jersey seeks a Director of Transportation and Carrier Management to lead domestic line haul operations, strategy, and carrier relationships.

You will drive cost-efficient logistics, enable growth, and ensure service excellence through long-range network optimization and technology strategy. You will build a high-performing team, develop a multi-year transportation roadmap including AI applications, and partner with Procurement on RFP outcomes to optimize service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10-15 years experience in Logistics/Transportation or related field.
• Retail Logistics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop & implement line haul transportation strategy.
• Employ robust people leadership methods to drive employee engagement & accountability while developing future leaders and succession planning.
• Assess emerging technologies & develop multi-year transportation technology roadmap encompassing execution, optimization, visibility, and AI applications.
• Lead line haul network optimization efforts; exploiting inbound/outbound synergies.
• Drive structured performance management program.
• Manage strategic carrier relationships. Conduct QBR’s and key partnership meetings.
• Partner with Procurement to ensure successful RFP outcomes; optimizing for service & cost.
• Drive transportation expense reduction, routing efficiency, dedicated capacity, and modal conversion opportunities.
• Direct intermediate-to-long-range capacity planning.
