Hire Point Recruiting is seeking a Technical Accounting Director to lead research, policy development, and evaluation of complex transactions under U.S. GAAP.

You will advise senior finance leadership, support financial reporting, and partner across functions to assess accounting implications of business initiatives. You will oversee memoranda, monitor new standards, and drive policy consistency while coordinating with auditors and controlling SOX compliance.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with substantial technical accounting.
• Public accounting experience (Big Four or national firm) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and complex transaction analysis.
• Experience preparing technical memoranda and evaluating business transactions.
• Familiarity with SEC reporting and SOX compliance.

Responsabilités

• Lead research and application of U.S. GAAP to complex matters (revenue, leases, business combinations, equity, debt, stock-based compensation).
• Prepare and review technical accounting memoranda with conclusions and analyses.
• Evaluate significant/nonroutine transactions with stakeholders to determine accounting treatment.
• Monitor new standards and lead implementation across the organization.
• Develop and update accounting policies for consistency across business units.
• Support financial statements and disclosures for accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Legal on matters.
• Provide guidance for acquisitions, divestitures, financing activities, and strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate with external auditors on technical accounting matters and documentation.
• Strengthen internal controls over technical accounting and SOX compliance.
• Develop and deliver training on policies and emerging guidance.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and reporting.
• Lead and develop technical accounting team members.
