Job Description

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Director of Technical Accounting to oversee revenue recognition and other technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with GAAP, company policies, and audits. This role reports to the VP of Technical Accounting and External Reporting.

Location:

Remote, within the Boston area for periodic in-person meetings.

What You'll Do:

• Be a subject matter expert on accounting standards, ensuring US GAAP compliance.
• Advise senior management on complex accounting issues.
• Review customer contracts for revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with Legal, Sales, and Operations on revenue and contract structuring.
• Handle technical projects like business combinations, debt, equity, and lease transactions.
• Prepare analyses and documentation on complex accounting issues.
• Develop policies, procedures, and operational strategies.
• Manage financial statement disclosures related to revenues, business combinations, and leases.
• Support monthly and quarterly closing activities and internal controls.
• Coordinate with auditors to ensure smooth audits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience, CPA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
