Job Description

General Summary:

The Technical Accounting Associate Director is primarily responsible for researching and documenting accounting positions and analyses for a variety of complex areas, as well as proactively monitoring and performing impact analyses with respect to new accounting standards and other regulatory developments.

This position is based in our Boston, MA office, located in the Seaport area. This role requires a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office & 2 days remote on a weekly basis.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical accounting research and prepare analyses and accounting whitepapers, including complex areas such as: collaboration accounting; revenue recognition; variable interest entities/other consolidation matters; business combinations and asset acquisitions; and goodwill and intangible asset impairment assessments/testing.

  • Lead the development and maintenance of the Company's accounting policies.

  • Provide support to Business Development for proposed opportunities, including researching and documenting expected accounting and financial statement impacts.

  • Proactively monitor new accounting and reporting guidance affecting the company, including preparation of executive-level summaries and detailed project implementation plans.

  • Lead and collaborate cross-functionally to implement new accounting standards, including assessing the related financial reporting implications.

  • Act as primary liaison for internal/external auditors for all areas of responsibility.

  • Supervise and mentor other technical accounting and SEC reporting team members to develop their accounting and problem-solving skills.

  • Manage or participate on special projects as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Comprehensive and current understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting principles and regulations.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.

  • Experience with implementing new accounting standards.

  • CPA required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.

  • Typically requires 8 years of progressive financial accounting and reporting experience in Big 4 public accounting firm / public company accounting department or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range:

$148,800 - $223,200

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
