Job summary

American Workforce Solutions seeks a Director of Technology Operations to own SRE, IT, and security functions remotely across the US. You will drive reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency for telecom and enterprise platforms, partnering with engineering and product to shape architecture and operational readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Business.
• 10+ years in infrastructure/telecommunications operations or high-availability production environments with uptime accountability.
• 5+ years hands-on cloud experience (AWS and/or Azure) incl. IaC, automation, monitoring.
• 6+ years of people leadership overseeing 30+ professionals (SRE, DevOps, NOC, etc.).
• Proven success designing observability frameworks and using data to drive improvements.
• Strong experience with change management, production readiness reviews, and regulatory compliance in telecom/data environments.
• Excellent analytical, budgeting, and communication skills with ability to influence executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead SRE, DevOps, NOC, Help Desk, Corporate IT, and Security teams toward operational excellence.
• Own end-to-end reliability for telecom platforms and enterprise systems; define SLIs/SLOs with >99.99% uptime roadmap.
• Analyze service health metrics and drive root-cause analyses and systemic fixes.
• Establish production readiness standards before new services launch.
• Partner with Engineering and Product on architectural decisions for scalability.
• Drive cloud infrastructure strategy across AWS and Azure with IaC and automation.
• Oversee IT and Security operations, including policy enforcement and compliance.
• Implement ITIL/ITSM practices across SaaS platforms like Salesforce and Azure.
• Develop annual operational plans and budgets aligned with business growth.
• Maintain relationships with cloud providers, telecom partners, and vendors.
