Job summary

The Bolton Group seeks a Director of Capital and Emerging Technology Accounting to lead software capitalization, cloud computing arrangements, and governance. This hybrid role partners with engineering to ensure US GAAP alignment across product roadmaps and major technology initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a CPA and 7+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in technical accounting or policy roles within tech or FinTech, with strong communication and documentation skills to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA required.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience including 3 years in technical accounting or policy roles.
Deep expertise in ASC 350-40 and ASU 2018-15.
Ability to translate complex accounting standards into clear frameworks for engineering and finance.
Experience drafting audit-ready memos and internal controls.
Public accounting background with tech exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead software capitalization and cloud computing arrangements accounting.
Bridge technical policy with engineering execution to align roadmaps with US GAAP.
Serve as primary authority on capitalization decisions and governance for emerging tech.
Draft and maintain internal controls and memos for audit readiness.
