Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Director of Talent Payroll and Onboarding Administration is part of the Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management leadership team. This position is responsible for providing leadership, overall management and administration of the university's human resource payroll and onboarding functions. This position also works with the CHRO to support strategic planning and decision-making as it relates to this unit and is responsible for UMBC compliance matters relating to policies and procedures around payroll, employees outside of the state of Maryland and international employees (i.e. Dual employment, FICA tax, NRA/RA tax compliance).
UMBC offers competitive compensation. This role starts at $120,000 and has over 4 weeks of vacation for regular full time roles. Tuition remission is also available.
A hybrid telework schedule may be available.
Leads a team of payroll and onboarding services staff who are responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and efficient processing of HR employee onboarding and job related and payroll transactions. Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of payroll functions, including the processing of HR and Payroll transactions.
Salary: $120,000 - $134,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
