Job summary

Aero Simulation, Inc. is seeking a Director of Systems Engineering to provide leadership over our Systems and Software Engineering groups, ensuring technical capabilities, processes, and resources for current and future programs.

You will set engineering priorities, standards, and talent development across ASI's programs. You will guide staffing, support cross-program execution, and collaborate with HR and leadership to recruit, develop, and retain top engineers while maintaining compliance with

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible engineering experience in a complex technical environment (as stated).
• Minimum of 7 years of engineering leadership or management experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex systems/software development, integration, and test activities.
• Familiarity with flight simulation, aerospace, defense, or similar industries preferred.
• Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle: requirements, architecture, interfaces, integration, verification, and validation.
• Experience managing resources across multiple programs and priorities.
• Support for proposals, technical estimates, and transition from award to execution.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Software and Systems Engineering personnel, capabilities, processes, and resources.
• Manage staffing, workload, utilization, and resource allocation across programs.
• Provide guidance to Project Engineers on technical challenges and execution concerns.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, processes, tools, and practices.
• Partner with HR and group leaders on workforce planning, recruitment, and retention.
• Develop leaders and engineers through coaching and mentoring.
• Support proposals with engineering staffing, labor estimates, and risks.
• Ensure compliance with processes, quality requirements, and configuration management.
