Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Director of Supply Chain to lead purchasing, warehousing, inventory, logistics, and vendor management for critical IT and network operations. This role drives material readiness, supplier performance, and cost efficiency while aligning with forecasts and project plans.

You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and project leadership to translate demand into reliable sourcing and stocking plans, manage risk, and ensure compliance with policies and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Admin, Operations, Engineering or related field.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in purchasing, inventory, warehousing, materials management, logistics, or related operations with supervisory responsibility.
• Experience in electric utility, broadband/telecommunications, cooperative, construction, manufacturing, distribution or asset-intensive environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP and inventory management systems, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and data analysis.
• Strong negotiation, judgment, problem-solving, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an integrated supply chain plan for material, equipment, and service needs.
• Translate forecasts and plans into effective sourcing, inventory, and delivery plans.
• Lead material-readiness planning to identify shortages, long-lead risks, and excess inventory.
• Direct purchasing activities including requisitions, bids, purchase orders, and expediting within controls.
• Manage supplier relationships, contracts, pricing, warranties, and delivery performance.
• Oversee inventory in receiving, storage, issuance, and disposition, maintaining accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety, and ethical standards.
• Provide regular reporting on material availability, purchasing commitments, and supplier risks.
