Job summary

Santa Monica College is seeking a Director of Special Programs in Santa Monica, CA to lead programs such as EOP&S, CARE, CalWORKs, Dream, and Rising. The position reports to the Dean of Student Success and Counseling and drives policy development and program delivery.

Responsibilities include budgeting, staffing, scheduling, compliance, reporting, and collaboration with colleges and community partners to support underrepresented and at‑risk students.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
• One year of formal training, internship or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrative assignment.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse socio-economic, academic, cultural backgrounds of community college students.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EOP&S, CARE, CalWORKs, Dream and Rising programs.
• Develop and manage program budgets; allocate resources.
• Ensure compliance with state, county, and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with community partners and college stakeholders.
• Lead staff, recruit, train, and evaluate personnel.
