Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 1-3 years’ experience in a related field preferred.
• Excellent proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Excellent written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to student-athlete development and academic success.
• Experience with NCAA Academic requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic support to student-athletes, including academic planning, course selection, degree progress and graduation planning.
• Monitor academic performance, attendance, standing and NCAA progress toward degree requirements.
• Assist with monitoring eligibility and progress-toward-degree requirements in collaboration with the athletic department's staff.
• Assist with transfer credit evaluations for prospective student-athletes.
• Develop individualized academic success plans for student-athletes at academic risk.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to assess progress, identify barriers, and provide resources.
• Collaborate with coaches and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
• Coordinate tutoring, study hall, learning strategies, time management and test preparation with the Division of Student Success.
• Track records related to advising, progress, degree completion and interventions.
• Advocate for student-athlete success with campus academic units and advisors.
• Assist with course registration, schedule planning, major exploration and graduation preparation.
• Participate in departmental meetings, professional development and student-athlete programming.
• Maintain knowledge of NCAA, Big South and Gardner-Webb policies.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive culture within the athletic department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
