Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Director of New Business Development (M&A) to shape and execute inorganic growth for the Peripheral Interventions unit. The role leads acquisitions, licensing, and strategic investments from identification through integration, partnering with Strategy, Finance, Legal, and R&D teams.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in BD/strategy with healthcare/medical device experience and strong executive communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years across BD, strategy, marketing, finance, or product development; 2–3 years consulting preferred.
• Healthcare industry experience required; medical device experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives and influencing without direct authority.
• Strong analytical capability including market modeling, financial analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with executive‑level presence.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain a New Business Development pipeline, including acquisitions, licensing opportunities, minority investments, and other strategic structures.
• Identify, prioritize, and evaluate external growth opportunities aligned with PI strategy and leadership objectives.
• Lead end‑to‑end evaluation of transactions with market assessment, investment thesis, and financial modeling.
• Partner with PI Strategy and platform marketing to align opportunities with priorities and roadmaps.
• Prepare executive‑ready materials and present opportunities to senior leadership and governance bodies.
