Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in Reading, PA is seeking an Environmental Programs leader to drive strategy and execution for storage tank compliance. You will build and lead a team of environmental professionals and third-party experts to ensure 100% regulatory adherence across multiple states.

The role focuses on scalable policies, integration with business processes, and collaboration with leadership, regulators, and vendors. Experience with EMIS and SPCC/UST planning is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Environmental Science, Civil or Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Energy Management, EHS, etc.
• Master’s preferred; experience can substitute for degree.
• Professional Engineer; Storage tank A, B, C training; API/NFPA certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team with knowledge and skills for storage tank compliance; manage performance and development.
• Develop and implement a roadmap to achieve 100% compliance with storage tank laws and regulations.
• Manage records of tank maintenance, testing and audits; lead spill response and remediation.
• Coordinate with Environmental Compliance Specialists, Facilities, Real Estate, and Operations on tank upgrades and replacements.
• Establish preventive maintenance programs to ensure tank integrity and compliance.
• Communicate with government agencies and regulators about AST/UST activities.
