Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Director, Solutions/Conceptual Design to lead a team of Communication Systems Architects and define complete technical solutions for new opportunities. The Director guides architecture from early concept through capture, proposal, and transition to execution, coordinating with Product, BD, and Engineering to align mission needs with differentiated architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field with 11–15 years, or advanced degrees with respective years.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and owning end-to-end system architectures.
• Advanced expertise in at least one communications domain (e.g., RF/microwave, antennas, DSP, FPGA, software).
• Experience leading technical solutions for customer pursuits, proposals, or new opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing team of Communication Systems Architects for complete technical solutions.
• Ensure accountable technical architects for end-to-end solution ownership from CONOPS to transition.
• Translate mission objectives into differentiated system solutions with customers and Business Development.
• Lead architecture trades across antennas, RF, digital processing, algorithms, and interfaces to optimize mission performance.
• Shape technical strategy with Product leadership and BD to win opportunities.
• Form credible architectures with requirements, analyses, and development plans.
• Drive system requirements, interfaces, and verification approaches for a sound baseline.
• Identify customer needs to influence product roadmaps and technology investments.
• Balance performance with cost, schedule, risks, and manufacturability.
