Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Director, Solutions/Conceptual Design to lead the team responsible for end-to-end technical solutions for new opportunities. The role collaborates across Product, Business Development, customers, and Engineering to translate mission needs into complete architectures and executable plans.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in communications systems, multi-disciplinary leadership, and a proven track record in customer pursuits and architecture development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a related engineering field with related experience in communication systems engineering or payload development.
• 5+ years of progressive technical leadership in system architecture or chief engineer roles.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing team of Communication Systems Architects.
• Oversee end-to-end solution definitions from CONOPS to execution.
• Translate mission needs into differentiated system solutions for customers.
• Lead architecture trades across antennas, RF, DSP, firmware, software, and interfaces.
• Collaborate with Product Development and Business Development to shape technical strategy.
• Ensure architectures balance performance, cost, risk, and manufacturability.
• Develop system requirements, interfaces, and verification approaches.
• Drive reuse of existing products where appropriate.
• Mentor architects and senior technical leaders.
