Job summary

Achievement First seeks a strategic Director, School Safety to lead emergency preparedness and crisis response across the network of AF schools. You will develop protocols, train leaders, and coordinate with law enforcement and districts to ensure strong safety practices network‑wide.

You will manage safety budgets, lead policy development, and oversee audits and compliance to protect students and staff while advancing AF’s mission of academic excellence and equitable education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of project and systems management experience.
• Experience in a school context is a plus.
• Trained (or willing to become trained) in school safety response and emergency response protocols.
• Strong project management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop emergency response and crisis response protocols for all AF schools.
• Train school leaders and regional staff on health and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and district health/safety leads.
• Lead health and safety policy development and budget management.
• Oversee safety audits and on‑site walk‑throughs; prescribe corrective actions.
