Job summary

The Maryland Center for School Safety seeks a Director of Operations (Program Manager IV) to join the Executive Team and report directly to the Executive Director. You will provide strategic direction and operational oversight for the agency’s Training and Certification, Prevention and Intervention, and Safe Schools Maryland tipline.

Qualifications

• Six years of professional administrative, operational, or program management experience
• Three years of direct supervision of professional employees or management of complex, multi-faceted operational programs
• Two years of professional experience in operational command, program leadership, or policy administration within public safety, school systems, emergency management, law enforcement, or criminal/juven
• Three or more years of command-level leadership experience within law enforcement, emergency management, or public safety agency (preferred)
• Three or more years of experience creating, reviewing, testing, or executing Emergency Operations Plans or school safety/crisis response protocols (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for core agency divisions including Training and Certification, Prevention and Intervention, and the Safe Schools Maryland tipline
• Ensure compliance with school safety mandates across the agency
• Lead emergency readiness and incident response efforts
• Manage day-to-day operations, budgets, and cross-functional teams across the agency
