Job summary

Miss Hall's School seeks a Director of Campus Safety to lead the safety, security, and wellbeing of our boarding school community. The role drives emergency preparedness, incident response, and safety planning on a year-round, 24/7 residential campus serving approximately 180 students.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in safety, with a strong focus on equity, inclusion, and collaboration with campus partners and local authorities.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience in safety, preferably in a student-focused or residential setting.
• Knowledge of state/federal security regulations, safety trends, and municipal protocols.
• High integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills for training and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, direction, and daily leadership to the Campus Safety Department (includes full and part-time officers).
• Foster officer development through feedback, mentorship, and professional opportunities.
• Oversee budgeting, scheduling, and fleet management for the department.
• Maintain and implement campus safety, security, and emergency protocols.
• Design and deliver safety/emergency training and coordinate drills.
• Serve on-call 24/7 as primary emergency escalation contact.
• Collaborate with local authorities and external stakeholders.
• Partner with Student Life and Residential Life to support student well-being.
