Director of Sales

Exempt Position - Remote, 30% Travel, Auto allowance included

Reports to VP of Sales, Americas

This position is responsible for the sales, marketing, and market development of Gaylord Chemical products into assigned markets and geographies. The individual will develop new profit opportunities, expanding into new chemistries, broadening current product offerings into new market applications, and exploring new geographical locations. The incumbent will be a member of the TechnoMarketing team, providing ideas and recommendations to prioritize and allocate limited R&D and sales resources. The primary customer base focus is aerospace and related industries with government contract experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the TechnoMarketing team. Assist in developing new applications for current products and new products for the company.
  • Propose marketing strategies for the assigned geographic and market segments.
  • Implement strategic plans by developing tactics and executing them in the marketplace.
  • Keep key company personnel informed about progress toward objectives.
  • Manage development and implementation of:
  • Call reports
  • Pricing plans and proposals
  • Training of consultants, distributors, and new employees in the area of responsibility
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers at key accounts and understand their values related to Gaylord’s products and services.
  • Support formalized sales and market development processes integrated into eChempax, such as samples, technical inquiries, deals, correspondence, and call reporting.
  • Participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and cGMP requirements, working towards company objectives.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • MBA preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in sales or marketing within the aerospace industry, especially dealing with government contracts.
  • Experience with life science products is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of related industries, specifically chemicals.

Must be authorized to work in the USA without restrictions.
