Job description

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for sales and a deep understanding of the higher education sector?

Nuventive’s planning and improvement software helps higher education institutions use information to innovate and continuously advance their most pressing initiatives, from strategic planning to accreditation, learning outcomes, program review, and more.

They seek an experienced and dynamic Director of Sales to lead their sales efforts and drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in higher education sales, a proven track record of exceeding sales targets, and the ability to build and manage a high-performing sales team. This role requires a blend of strategic leadership and hands-on sales expertise.

Major Responsibilities

  • Serve as a player/coach, actively participating in sales activities while providing guidance and support to team members
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the higher education sector
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals
  • Build out and scale the sales team to meet growing business needs; lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of success
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including presidents and offices of planning and assessment within higher education institutions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sales efforts with business goals
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth
  • Travel up to 25% to attend industry conferences, meet with clients, and support sales activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Several years of experience selling to higher education institutions
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Ability to build strong, long-term relationships with college and university presidents, understanding their business needs and priorities while presenting Nuventive as a compelling solution
  • Strong understanding of the higher education sector, including familiarity with offices of planning and assessment
  • Experience selling directly to university/college presidents a plus
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a remote work environment
