Job summary

Datavant in Boston is seeking a Director, Retrieval Operations – Inventory Strategy to translate client demand into weekly and daily plans across retrieval channels, owning forecasting, prioritization, routing, and governance for Payer Retrieval.

You will build a scalable inventory-planning discipline and partner with Operations, Workforce Management, Call Center, Product, Engineering, Analytics, and vendors to identify risks, set priorities, and improve retrieval outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, analytics, or healthcare administration.
• 8+ years in operations, inventory planning, demand forecasting, or capacity planning.
• Proven ability to translate forecasts into production, routing, and capacity plans.
• Strong governance, risk management, and cross-functional influence.
• Financial and analytical skills to evaluate productivity, yield, and cost.
• Experience with product/engineering in operational tech and AI-enabled workflows.
• Excellent executive communication and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Own the inventory strategy and planning framework for Payer Retrieval and translate demand into operating plans.
• Establish forecasting, segmentation, and prioritization strategies based on commitments, pacing, and cost.
• Route inventory across channels based on provider behavior, capacity, and yield.
• Evaluate channel/partner performance and adjust distribution to improve outcomes and reduce delays.
• Monitor performance against commitments, identify risks, and lead recovery planning.
• Use scenario planning to evaluate demand, capacity, and priorities for leadership.
• Partner with Workforce Management to align staffing with inventory demand and capacity.
• Support annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting with linked demand and targets.
• Establish KPIs, dashboards, and governance for inventory health and cost.
• Collaborate with BI/Analytics to translate data into executive insights.
• Work with Product/Engineering to refine prioritization logic and roadmap.
• Coordinate with Call Center leadership on segmentation between human calls and Voice AI.
