Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Director of Retrieval Operations – Inventory Strategy to translate client demand into actionable inventory plans across retrieval channels and vendor partners. You will own forecasting, prioritization, routing, and governance to balance commitments, capacity, yield, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• Eight or more years of progressive experience in operations, inventory planning, demand forecasting, capacity planning, or related field with leadership.
• Ability to translate demand forecasts into actionable production, routing, prioritization, and capacity plans.
• Identify performance risks, develop recovery plans, establish governance across boundaries.
• Strong financial and analytical skills; evaluate productivity, capacity, service, yield, cost tradeoffs.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to develop operational technology and AI-enabled workflows.
• Exceptional executive communication; translate complex analysis into clear recommendations.
• Proficient with spreadsheets, data-visualization, forecasting, BI tools; SQL is a plus.
• Experience in healthcare operations, payer operations, vendor management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the inventory strategy and planning framework for Payer Retrieval, translating client demand into operating plans.
• Establish forecasting, segmentation, and prioritization strategies based on commitments, pacing, yield, and cost.
• Define routing framework for inventory across channels based on provider behavior and capacity.
• Evaluate channel and partner performance and adjust inventory distribution to reduce delays and cost.
• Monitor project performance against commitments and lead recovery planning for at-risk inventory.
• Perform scenario planning to evaluate demand, capacity, and priorities with data-backed recommendations.
• Coordinate with Workforce Management to align demand with staffing and capacity plans.
• Support annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting by linking demand, capacity, and financial targets.
• Establish KPIs, dashboards, and governance for inventory health and cost metrics.
• Collaborate with BI/Analytics to deliver actionable reporting and insights.
• Work with Product/Engineering to refine prioritization and routing logic, define success metrics and roadmaps.
• Partner with Call Center leadership to segment inventory between human calls and AI-based outreach.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve flow and reduce manual effort.
• Lead and develop the Inventory Strategy team and advise senior leadership.
