Job summary

Charles Schwab seeks a Director of Responsible AI to lead vision, standards, and operating practices for responsible AI across client-facing solutions. You will design evaluation approaches, blending automated testing with human review, and partner with legal, risk, product, and research teams to embed governance across the development lifecycle.

You will translate emerging AI risks and enterprise standards into practical guidance, enabling responsible innovation at scale while strengthening

Qualifications

• 8+ years in risk management, compliance, responsible AI or related fields.
• Experience leading applied research programs in Responsible AI or AI risk.
• Ability to assess AI systems impact on people, workflows and clients.
• 3+ years implementing AI risk management frameworks with cross‑functional teams.
• Knowledge of modern AI systems including generative and agentic AI.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee Schwab's responsible AI strategy and governance.
• Design evaluation frameworks combining automated tests with human review.
• Collaborate with legal, risk, compliance, product, engineering and research teams.
• Embed responsible AI practices across design, deployment and improvement lifecycles.
• Translate regulatory expectations into practical guidance for AI initiatives.
