Job summary

The Career Technical Education Foundation Sonoma County (CTEF) seeks a Director of Resource Development to lead fundraising and donor relations initiatives that support current and future programming.

The DRD will work closely with the Executive Director, Director of CTE Programs, and the Board to build partnerships and secure resources across individuals, corporations, foundations, and government entities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience at the director level leading development efforts in an entrepreneurial nonprofit environment.
• Passion and commitment to CTEF's mission.
• Ability to drive agenda forward by building strong internal/external partnerships.
• Demonstrated success in networking to build relationships with corporate, public, and private sectors.
• Proven experience across the full spectrum of development including planned giving, gift solicitations, stewardship and administration.
• Strategic, analytical approach with professionalism and charisma.
• Strong organizational, writing and public speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• The DRD is hired by and reports to the Executive Director and works with the Director of CTE Programs and Board of Directors to grow fund development partnerships.
• Develop and monitor CTEF's fund development plan with strategic goals and objectives for growth.
• Lead resource development strategy for individual, corporate, government and foundation donors, including major prospect cultivation and stewardship, planned giving, and events.
• Identify and develop innovative funding partnerships with organizations that advance CTEF's goals.
• Communicate a positive image of the CTEF to stakeholders and the public, building trust and support at the highest levels.
• Coordinate with the Resource Development Committee and the Executive Director to align activities and governance.
• Collaborate with the Director of CTE Programs to secure resources for program initiatives like Annual Grants, Community WISE, Work Based Learning and Sonoma Corps.
• Oversee Development and Marketing Manager in creating communications materials and social media strategy.
• Oversee grant proposals in coordination with the Director of CTE Programs, including prospect research and reporting to funders.
• Manage the Resource Development Department, including staff supervision, budget, planning and performance reviews.
