Job summary

The Redford Center in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Director of Development to lead fundraising strategy, manage a small development team, and deepen donor relationships to support our environmental storytelling and programs.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will oversee individual giving, major gifts, grants, and campaigns, collaborate with the Board and program teams, and ensure a sustainable revenue plan through data-driven planning.

Qualifications

• Be able to work legally in the United States and maintain proper work authorization throughout employment.
• Currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area and come to the office 1-2 days a week.
• Able to assist with events, including occasionally lifting up to 35 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Work occasional evenings and weekends and travel periodically for donor meetings, events, organizational gatherings, and other fundraising activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising plan with clear revenue goals.
• Lead long-term fundraising strategy, assessing and cultivating opportunities across multiple revenue streams.
• Oversee prospect development strategy and prioritization.
• Lead donor education strategies with collaboration across teams.
• Facilitate fundraising planning with the Board of Directors.
• Supervise and grow the development team.
• Oversee major fundraising campaigns, donor communications, and events.
• Manage department operations, forecasting, and CRM hygiene.
