Job summary

Zelestra, a global renewable energy company, is seeking a Director of Project Development to lead its development strategy and build a high-performing team of developers from concept through construction readiness.

The role prioritizes permitting, land entitlements, interconnection, and stakeholder engagement across key U.S. markets, with up to 30% travel. You will shape portfolio outcomes while collaborating with Finance, Legal, and Engineering in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of renewable energy project development experience.
• Strong leadership and team management experience.
• Experience with permitting, land entitlements, interconnection and community engagement.
• Financial acumen to structure and evaluate project economics and risks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of project developers and associates.
• Oversee utility-scale solar, wind, and storage development from early stage to construction readiness.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Engineering on project design, terms, and financing; manage budgets and KPIs.
