Company Overview
Rex is a privately held ecosystem of entrepreneurial ventures founded by Peter Rex, spanning tech, real estate, insurance, AI, and more. We build companies and investment platforms that deliver exceptional financial returns while advancing meaningful societal impact. At the core of our strategy is deep alignment with our capital partners. We are creating one of the most compelling investor-facing ecosystems in the private markets, distinguished by a rare combination of institutional-quality real estate and high-growth tech ventures unified by a singular, mission-driven vision.
About Us
Rex exists to catalyze human flourishing, serving people across all nations. We are building a firm with transcendent impact, crossing geographies and aiming to leave a permanent mark on history. With more than 500 team members, Rex builds and invests across tech, real estate, insurance, contrarian trading, and more.
Our Ecosystem Includes
- Tech ventures built from the ground up
- 20,000+ apartment homes
- Hotel and premium creative spaces
- Insurance businesses
We currently see a contrarian opportunity in real estate investing and are launching a private equity initiative focused on institutional-quality assets, with a focus on multifamily properties. This effort is optimized to serve investors and is a strategic priority. We are quickly adding to the leadership team.
In parallel, we are rapidly advancing AI-powered tech targeting inefficiencies in real estate and adjacent sectors. Our tools are transforming maintenance, leasing, compliance, insurance, and more. With ten ventures already generating revenue, we are early in a long-term effort to create over a trillion dollars in economic impact and, more importantly, enduring societal value.
Based primarily in Texas and Florida with remote operations nationwide, Rex builds with a dual mandate: generate strong, downside protected returns and uplift humanity. We are seeking professionals ready to help scale this platform and drive global impact.
The Opportunity
Rex is seeking a Director of Recruiting – High Value Targets: a proven hunter of elite talent with 5–9 years of experience and a track record of identifying and closing top performers. The ideal candidate is industry-agnostic—capable of recruiting across tech, private equity real estate, insurance, and beyond—highly skilled with LinkedIn and recruiting technologies, and masterful at navigating networks to surface top-tier talent. They know how to strategically deploy external recruiters to expand reach while maintaining cost control and clarity. This role demands exceptional presence: someone who commands attention over video, phone, and in writing, with the charisma and conviction to win over the best. We’re looking for a relentless recruiter with bloodhound instincts who thrives on landing high-value hires, operating solo and with high autonomy. Above all, this person must be a missionary: purpose-driven, committed to catalyzing human flourishing through business, and fully aligned with our values. Fully remote.
The Role
As Director of Recruiting, you will independently lead the sourcing and recruitment of high-impact professionals across Rex’s diverse business verticals. This is an individual contributor role that requires full-cycle execution, from search strategy and outreach to closing, without reliance on a team. You must be comfortable operating solo in a high-trust, high-performance environment, using judgment, resourcefulness, and speed to deliver outstanding results. You will build and manage sourcing pipelines, deploy recruiting technologies, and strategically coordinate with external partners to expand reach when needed. This role requires direct collaboration with senior leadership, a bias for action, and the ability to manage multiple critical searches simultaneously while maintaining excellence at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for high-impact roles across technology, private equity real estate, insurance, and adjacent sectors
- Source and engage top-tier candidates through direct outreach, network activation, and strategic sourcing tactics
- Draft compelling, high-precision copy to attract elite talent, communicating opportunities with clarity, conviction, and purpose
- Generate candidate interest and brand momentum through targeted social media posts, webinars, digital campaigns, and remote-hosted community events
- Organize and support occasional in-person gatherings to cultivate talent networks and local visibility in key markets
- Design and execute highly tailored outbound email campaigns to engage passive and high-value candidates
- Build and manage candidate pipelines using modern recruiting platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter
- Partner directly with senior leadership to refine search strategies and ensure tight alignment on role scope, priorities, and culture fit
- Maintain a high standard of candidate experience through professional, mission-aligned communication at every stage
- Selectively manage third-party recruiter relationships to extend reach while maintaining quality control and cost discipline
- Track and optimize key recruiting metrics to drive performance in a lean, high-accountability environment
Qualifications
- 5–9 years of full-cycle recruiting experience with a strong record of closing top-tier talent across functions and industries
- Expertise in LinkedIn Recruiter and sourcing platforms such as SeekOut, with skill in building precise Boolean search strings and uncovering hard-to-reach candidates
- Deep familiarity with modern ATS and CRM systems such as Greenhouse, Gem, or comparable platforms
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft high-impact outreach and convey complex opportunities with clarity and credibility
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently as a high-output individual contributor in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
- Experience recruiting across diverse verticals, including technology, private equity real estate, insurance, or other high-performance sectors
- Strong executive presence and sound judgment when interfacing with senior leadership, high-value candidates, and external partners
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent searches without compromising speed, quality, or candidate experience
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong bias for action, attention to detail, and comfort with ambiguity
- Mission-aligned: committed to catalyzing human flourishing through business and fully aligned with Rex’s culture of service and bold execution
Rex Ecosystem-Wide Mission
Catalyze Human Flourishing through our products/services and to elevate/further humanity in all our business dealings.
Rex Values / Rex Culture
- Customer Fanatic. We fanatically focus on customers, seeking to ever-deliver more value, and inventing/innovating on their behalf.
- Product/Service Passion. Our business thrives or dies by products/services.
- Ludicrous speed. Our default pace is extremely fast. Time is precious, life is short; and moving fast is more fun and effective.
- FAWOMO. We will find a way, or make one.
- Loves going to war: prefers wartime to peacetime, always hungry to move forward, do more, and push growth.
- Chutzpah. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Fortune favors the bold. Duc in altum.
- Fun. We should only do work, over the long run, that’s fun; and work with fun people. Jokes and humor welcomed; PC stuff and uptight behavior prohibited.
- Never-lose-money approach. Protects the downside, using careful analysis before deploying significant resources, and ensuring cash is plentiful; never risking what others have and need for what they don’t have and don’t need.
- Other-centered. Idealist, desperate more than anything to leave an impact with their life by helping other people, seeing money as a means to serve.
- Creative cost cutting constantly. There's always a smarter way, always room to cut, always ways to do more with less – a cost advantage is a competitive edge.
- Fewer, more capable. Bias to as lean of a team as possible, with the highest competency – reducing communication and coordination, creating more effectiveness.
- Underdogs. What we’ve done is nothing compared to what we’re going to achieve now. We’re fighting to be the best, clawing and biting up and forward, aiming to be the champs, be #1. Scrappy AF no matter how much we accomplish. We’ve never ‘arrived’ in our minds. We’re the underdogs always.
- Other attributes valued. Pointblank forthrightness in conversation with teammates, brutally facing problems; velvet glove with iron fist in human dealings; shrewd as a serpent innocent as a dove; hardcore work hustle; invictus mentality; swagger with humility; quiet professionalism; thrifty and not materialistic; loves who they work with, loves what they do, and loves who we serve.
