Job summary

Park District of Highland Park invites applications for General Manager of Recreation Programs. Lead overall supervision of recreation services, staff, and facilities, guiding program development, events, and partnerships to deliver inclusive, high-quality experiences for the community.

You will oversee budgets, reporting, and cross-department coordination, including camps, arts programs, rentals, and facility operations at West Ridge Community Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Education, or similar field; five years of progressive experience in recreation programming or facility management with at least two years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff and operations of general recreation programming and special events.
• Plan and supervise a range of programs including camps, youth/adult programs, arts and performing arts.
• Develop detailed annual operating budgets and monitor revenues/expenses.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for leadership and board.
• Collaborate with Marketing for promotional materials and community outreach.
• Coordinate with Parks, Registration, and Maintenance to align facilities and rentals.
• Supervise summer day camps and lead camp committees.
