Job summary

Canadian Pacific Kansas City is seeking a Director to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for railway maintenance across the territory. You will drive safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient execution of maintenance programs, ensuring reliable service and asset longevity.

The role requires a strong safety culture, clear communication, and accountability, with 50–60% travel across locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' railway maintenance experience or strong heavy industry maintenance knowledge.
• Proven capabilities in driving and implementing cultural change.
• Experience in a unionized environment is necessary.
• Ability to travel to all locations required in the territory.

Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance of train servicing, repairs, and planned program work with CPKC standards, AAR requirements, and TC/FRA regulations.
• Lead the execution of improvement strategies to enhance productivity and asset reliability.
• Provide leadership during train incidents within the assigned territory and coordinate with operations partners.
• Manage the mechanical operating budget for the territory and ensure financial targets are achieved.
• Drive talent development and succession planning with ongoing coaching and growth opportunities.
• Maintain 24/7 availability for safety, operations, and regional matters with timely communication to stakeholders.
