Job summary

Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) is seeking a Director of Process and Performance to lead the hospital-wide Process Improvement program, aligning efforts with senior leadership and the PI Steering Committee.

The role emphasizes building systematic processes for monitoring, evaluating and improving patient care, with oversight of risk management and performance metrics across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience in process improvement or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of managerial experience in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Directs ongoing operations of the Process Improvement program to integrate the plan into organizational objectives under supervision of the Administrator and PI Steering Committee.
• Ensures hospital departments have a planned, systematic process for monitoring and improving the quality and appropriateness of care.
• Maintains a written Plan for Process Improvement describing objectives, scope and oversight mechanisms.
• Reviews consultant pre-survey reports and accreditation findings; develops action plans and contingency responses for focus surveys.
• Disseminates risk management information and trending reports to medical staff, committees, managers and board as appropriate.
• Participates in PI/risk management education for new employees and ongoing staff development.
• Facilitates hospital PI teams and prepares monthly/quarterly reports for the PI Steering Committee.
• Ensures departments understand and utilize the PI model daily.
• Directs the loss prevention and risk management function.
