Job summary

The Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians in San Jacinto, CA seeks a Planning, Development and Operations Director to lead the Public Works Department, overseeing planning, development, facilities oversight, project management and grant compliance.

The Director will develop long-term plans, budgets, staffing and coordinate with engineers, architects and outside agencies to ensure safe, compliant and efficient project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or construction management experience of 10 years or more with leadership roles.
• Experience in building maintenance or large facilities management.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and monitors long-term plans, goals and objectives of Public Works overall.
• Directs goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for the department.
• Manages department budget and forecast funding needs for staffing, equipment and supplies.
• Directs personnel, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations in coordination with the Operations Manager.
• Coordinates with engineers, developers, architects and outside agencies for relevant matters.
• Reviews and approves plans, designs, cost estimates and studies for engineering projects.
• Performs site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and design regulations.
• Contributes to policy development and continuous improvement of service delivery.
