Job summary

The University of North Carolina Wilmington's Division for University Advancement seeks a strategic Director of Prospect Development to elevate our prospecting operation and ensure data integrity across major gifts and leadership annual giving.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Major Gifts, the Director will lead the prospect research team, implement data structures and dashboards, and collaborate with Advancement Services to move prospects through cultivation, solicitation, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Five years of prospect development experience with knowledge of identification, research, and analysis.
Three years of experience managing a team and familiarity with fundraising CRM systems.

Responsibilities

Develop and oversee systematic prospect identification and qualification to sustain a strong pipeline for major giving and leadership annual giving.
Institute portfolio and pipeline management best practices to support fundraising programs.
Collaborate with Advancement Services to develop data structures, dashboards, and reports for prospect record management.
Create procedures for streamlined proposals using templates and one-sheeters for personalized conversations and formal proposals.
Identify, implement, and utilize technology that enhances prospect development and portfolio management.
Manage a development associate for prospect research, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
