Job summary

University of North Carolina Wilmington is seeking a Director of Prospect Development to lead the prospect research, data strategy, and fundraising analytics.

Reporting to the AVP for Major Gifts, you will build a data-driven approach, oversee a development associate, and partner with Advancement Services to optimize donor pipelines. This exempt, on-site role offers opportunities to influence major gifts and leadership annual giving within a vibrant UNC system campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Five years of prospect development experience with knowledge of prospect identification, research, and analysis.
• Knowledge of fundraising principles, prospect research tools, and fundraising CRM systems.
• Three years of experience managing a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop a streamlined prospect identification and qualification process to build a strong major and leadership giving pipeline.
• Institute portfolio and pipeline management best practices through data analysis and portfolio optimization.
• Create data structures, dashboards, and reports with Advancement Services for data-driven fundraising operations.
• Develop proposal templates and one-sheeters to speed personalized conversations and formal proposals.
• Identify and implement technology solutions to enhance prospect development and portfolio management.
• Manage the development associate for prospect research including hiring and mentoring.
