Job summary

AFOI is seeking a Director of Programs to lead and manage its program operations, staff development, and external partnerships. The role reports to the Executive Director and drives strategic growth and measurable impact across Children’s Services, Family Services, and Visitation Services.

The candidate will analyze data, support the Strategic Plan, and ensure quality assurance while serving as a key external representative of AFOI in the community.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work or related human services field with 3-5 years leadership experience.
• Experience in program management, preferably within a nonprofit or social services environment.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce or equivalent database software; familiarity with Canva, JotForm, and Renovo/ViaPath is a plus
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Availability for some evening, weekend, and travel commitments as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of three core programming areas.
• Troubleshoot programmatic challenges and implement timely, effective solutions.
• Lead and attend leadership meetings and external partner meetings.
• Maintain participant records in compliance with standards.
• Coordinate programming activities across service areas for alignment.
• Analyze program data and present findings to ED and DO.
• Support Strategic Plan and Long-Range Planning processes.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate program staff and volunteers.
• Lead onboarding and training for new staff with DO.
