Job summary

Loews Miami Beach Hotel is seeking a strategic Director of Pool Operations to lead all pool experiences with a focus on safety, luxury service, and guest satisfaction. You will oversee lifeguard teams, cabana operations, and cross-functional collaboration with F&B, Housekeeping, and Engineering to ensure seamless guest journeys.

The role requires overseeing safety and water quality, while driving seasonal programming and cost-aware staffing in a high-end outdoor setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Recreation, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in pool or recreation operations in a luxury hotel or resort.
• CPO and Lifeguard Certification required.
• Proven leadership experience managing large teams and guest-facing operations.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to aquatic environments.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and property management systems.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors and travel approximately 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily pool operations including water quality, safety, and guest service.
• Manage lifeguard and pool attendant teams with training and scheduling.
• Collaborate with F&B for poolside dining and beverage service.
• Monitor pool occupancy, cabana reservations, and guest flow.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and lifeguard certifications.
• Develop seasonal pool programming and special events.
• Maintain inventory of pool supplies and towels.
• Partner with Engineering to maintain pool equipment.
• Respond to guest feedback promptly.
• Lead daily briefings and supervise staff.
• Foster safety, hospitality, and accountability among the team.
