Job summary

Yale New Haven Health invites a seasoned Director of Nursing, Preoperative and Postoperative Care Units and Clinical Support Services to lead perioperative operations across campuses. You will drive patient flow, staff performance, and regulatory readiness, partnering with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing leadership to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

This role reports to VP Perioperative Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• CT RN Licensure required; NEA-BC or CNML within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides operational oversight for Preoperative and Postoperative Care Units across all campuses.
• Leads recruitment, staffing, onboarding, and professional development for assigned areas.
• Ensures compliance with hospital, state, federal, Joint Commission, CMS accreditation standards.
• Drives quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives across perioperative services.
• Establishes patient-centered culture and strategies to improve patient and family satisfaction.
